The technical offer given by the RME Avio Division R&D team include the possibility of following the customers in their projects with highly engineered products and services to meet the aerospace applications hard requirements.
An example of ad-hoc design, CAE simulations, prototyping and testing is the project “F-104 Camera Holders”.
The RME Avio Division tools and expertise and the long-lasting technical-scientific collaboration with Starfighter Aerospace (https://starfightersspace.com/) allowed to be able to bring commercial cameras into an extreme environment, avoiding the need for expensive and hard to find instrumentation.

Thanks to thermos-fluid dynamics and structural studies, it was possible to grant efficiency and security even at supersonic regimes.
F-104 Camera Holders
Developed to meet the needs of scientific research. In particular, the aim is to film the sub-wing payload in flight from three different prospectives.

The “Camera Holders” are designed to be perfectly integrated with the F-104 aircrafts of the Starfighters Aerospace fleet and hold specific cameras, ensuring their functioning during the flights with top speeds up to 2.2 Mach.
